We were invited by the Czech Trade Agency to participate in a business mission in the field of engineering to Dnipropetrovsk region and Kiev. The mission took place with the support of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kiev, with the personal participation of Ambassador Radek Pech and the First Deputy for Dnipropetrovsk region Mr. Ladislav Horák.
For the duration of the mission, our entire delegation moved only by train, as the international
domestic air links are also suspended due to the state of war. Our first contact with the war took place on 13 May 2024 in Kiev. Our meeting with Metinvest Holding representatives ended in an air raid shelter thanks to the air raid alert.

Then followed the departure, again by train, to Dnipro. Even during the war, the Dnipro region remained the most important industrial region of Ukraine. In Dnipro itself, a meeting with the leadership of the Dnipropetrovsk Chamber of Commerce, the Dnipropetrovsk Region Investment Agency and then a B2B meeting with representatives of Ukrainian companies took place on 14 May 2024.
The next day we moved to the town of Kryvyi Rih, where a Czech-Ukrainian business forum was held with the participation of the mayor of the town and then a B2B meeting with representatives of local companies.

We spent the last working day in Dnipro again. Negotiations with representatives of Interpipe NTRP about possible deliveries of our equipment, again due to the air raid alert, ended in the air raid shelter. After the alert ended, we continued with our scheduled program and visited the Technical High School and the College of Customs Administration and Finance. We ended our program with a meeting with the management of Agrosojuz. This concluded the working part of our mission.
In the evening of the same day, accompanied by the sound of sirens announcing the air raid alert, we left Dnipro and started the 28-hour journey home.
Our mission organized by the Czech Trade Agency was successful. During the mission we held talks with representatives of more than 30 companies and institutions from Dnipropetrovsk region and Kiev. Our Ukrainian partners appreciated our courage to undertake such a trip in the ever-present state of war, accompanied by the daily sirens announcing the danger of an air strike.
Finally, we would like to thank all the representatives of the Czech Trade Agency and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kiev who participated in the implementation of this mission for their excellent work.
See you soon!
